The KSA joined a member of the International Sociological Association (ISA) at the 6^th ISA World Congress of Sociology in Evian, France, as of September 4, 1966. Since then, members of the KSA have participated in the ISA World Congress of Sociology. In addition, the KSA has hosted the ISA international conferences in Korea on four times, as follows:

• The KSA hosted the ISA East Asian Regional Colloquium organized by the ISA, on the title of the Future of Sociology in East Asia at Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea, November 22-23, 1996.
• The KSA hosted the ISA RC16 Interim Conference organized by the ISA RC16 Sociological Theory, at Pusan National University in Busan, Korea, June 23-25, 2008.
• The KSA hosted the ISA RC01 Interim Conference organized by the ISA RC01 Armed Forces and Conflict Resolution, on Armed Forces and Conflict Resolution in a Globalized World at Seoul National University and Korea Military Academy in Seoul, Korea, July 14-17, 2008.
• The KSA hosted an International Conference organized by the ISA RC28 Social Stratification and Mobility, on Rethinking Social Inequality in the Globalizing World at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, May 25-27, 2018.
