The Council of the Korean Society resolved to change from the Korea Society to the Korean Sociological Association on December 26th.
The KSA became a member of the International Sociological Association at the 6th World Congress of Sociology in Evian, France, as of September 4, 1966.

The KSA held an international conference with the theme of Asia in the 21st Century: Challenges and Prospects in Seoul.
In 1987
The KSA held the 5th Asian Regional Conference of Sociology with a theme of Industrial East Asia: Tasks and Challenges in Seoul.
In 1984
The KSA Office has moved to 5th floor of the Korea Social Science Library Building in Seoul.
In 1983
With the revision of the KSA statues, the Council was reorganized into the Executive Committee and established the Steering Committee. The KSA promulgated the Regulations on the Election of the President, and introduced the postal ballot system for the election of the president.
In 1966
The Council of the Korean Society resolved to change from the Korea Society to the Korean Sociological Association on December 26th.
The KSA became a member of the International Sociological Association at the 6th World Sociological Congress in Evian, France, as of September 4, 1966.
In 1964
The Korea Society published its first volume of the Korean Journal of Sociology in November.
In 1957
The founding general meeting was held in the faculty room of Seoul National University on May 5th, 1957. In the meeting, the association was named as the Korea Society, and Sang-Baek LEE (Seoul National University) was elected as the first president.
The first research presentation was held at Lecture Hall 7, the College of Arts and Sciences, Seoul National University on October 20th, 1957.
In 1956
Fourteen sociologists proposed to establish an academic forum at Seoul National University on October 24th, 1956.
